Before PISTA, I was living with constant anxiety and wounds from past hurts that felt impossible to heal. It seemed the battles would never cease. I ticked almost all the boxes: anxiety crushing my spirit daily, depression draining my energy, burnout stealing my passion. Life felt out of control and old bullying scars still stung. I was lost, uncertain of my future, and fatigue was holding me back. I wanted so badly to experience real joy, purpose and freedom in my life again.

From Tutoring to Coaching

As an English tutor, I was concerned about how little students learnt when they were overwhelmed by emotions. They looked engaged but actually consumed by their problem. Students seldom know how to manage emotions, leading to poor coping strategies which can persist into adulthood.

One student, who was excelling academically and well-liked at school, experienced a behaviour change. He became disengaged, angry, and disruptive. His academic performance deteriorated until he was placed in a remedial class.

For 4-5 months, my varied efforts made little impact. Through my search, I met a psychologist willing to help. She taught me how to implement the PISTA system in my class. Under her guidance, I implemented exercises that allowed him to process his feelings.

Two weeks in, the principal informed me that teachers noticed a marked improvement in his behaviour. By the 3rd week, he was focused, structured and organized. In the 4th week, he was moved back to his original class. This experience led me to train as a PISTA coach.

My Journey Through Personal Challenges

While learning to apply PISTA techniques with my students, I was encouraged by my supervising PISTA coach to use them in my own life. This personal application revealed long-held emotional struggles rooted in unresolved issues that had led me to isolate myself and rely on unhealthy coping mechanisms.

During our weekly sessions, my PISTA coach guided me through structured self-dialogue exercises. This approach allowed me to explore my thoughts on the topic, helping me understand my own wants, needs, and desires more clearly. The daily use of personalised sound and vibration modalities helped me regulate my emotions, counter overthinking and defensiveness, and create mental clarity.

As a result of this deep personal work, I emerged from a dark place with renewed self-confidence. PISTA helped me address the trauma driving my behaviours, overcome feelings of inadequacy, and embrace life with a fresh perspective. This journey inspired me to become a PISTA coach, so I can now help others enhance their lives and relationships.

When I began the PISTA program, I was struggling with sleep issues, exhaustion, and feelings of isolation. I knew I needed help, but I wasn't sure where to start.
